Chicago
I'm typing in the Marriott O'hare; the urban sprawl is everywhere, business parks and hooters restaurants. The excess of capitalism mixed with the energy of the services industry. An entire city outside a city supported by the migrant workers of corporate america. Room service is terrible and being vegetarian and alcohol free on a business trip is like going to the desert without water. Perhaps that was a dis-analogy or a less than perfect analogy but you get my point. 72 more hours before im shuttled back in a tube of aluminum, with wings, to my hometown. 48 hours after that a cubicle and memories of a good weekend. 24 hours after that an Iraqi child will most likely die in our liberating occupation. I no longer measure time in seasons, semesters, or months but in quarters and earnings reports. Share price is much more subjective than most postmodern novels but we like to keep that truth hidden in dark places we don't talk about. This is our culture. This is our myth. Game six in Chicago.
